Baton Rouge, La. — The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries announced Free Fishing Weekend for Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, 2026, allowing residents and visitors to fish state waters without purchasing a fishing license while maintaining all applicable size, season, catch limits and gear restrictions. Madison, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources announced its 14th annual Free Fun Weekend for June 6–7, 2026, waiving admission, fishing license and trail pass requirements and granting access to 50 state parks, 15 state forests, 44 state trails and roughly 15,000 inland lakes; both states scheduled clinics and issued safety advisories ahead of the weekend.
